Mengenal Cardinal Numbers dan Ordinal Numbers

Ada dua jenis numbers dalam bahasa Inggris, yaitu cardinal numbers dan ordinal numbers

Cardinal numbers digunakan untuk menyatakan jumlah dan ordinal number digunakan untuk menyatakan urutan.

Pemisah antara ratusan dan puluhan
Ratusan dan puluhan biasanya dipisahakn dengan 'and'. Dalam Inggris Amerika (American English 'and' tidak diperlukan)
Contoh:
110 = one hundred and ten
1,250 = one thousand, two hundred and fifty
2,001 = two thousand and one

Ratusan
Contoh:
2,100 = two thousand, one hundred

Ribuan dan Jutaan
201,000 = two hundred and one thousand

Gunakan koma sebagai pemisah, contoh:
57,458,302

A billion = 1,000,000,000
A trillion = 1,000,000,000,000

Ejaan Ordinal Number
Hanya menambahkan 'th' pada cardinal number, kecuali:

• one - first
• two - second
• three - third
• five - fifth
• eight - eighth
• nine - ninth
• twelve - twelfth

Dalam penggabungan ordinal number, hanya angka terakhir yang ditulis sebagai ordinal number, contoh:

• 421st = four hundred and tewnty first
  
• 5111th = five thousand, one hundred and eleventh
